The Smashing Pumpkins - Soma - 4:22 to 5:04

lisztomania:

Is it bright where you are? Have the people changed?Does it make you happy? You’re so strangeAnd in your darkest hour, I hold secrets flameYou can watch the world devoured in it’s pain

This must be one of the greatest trailers of all time, it’s even better than the the former king, the 300 trailer. The trailer uses a little known Smashing Pumpkins song to such perfection, author Billy Corgan was answering questions about it *years* after the movie he originally wrote it for: Batman Forever.
The eerie fusion of dark costumed visuals harmonizes so well with the remote and fanciful lament of Corgan’s music its chilling to watch — scary even.
In fact, this trailer is difficult for me to watch. That blue naked man casually exploding that terrified Vietnamese fighter is a little too much coinciding strangeness for me to handle — but that makes it more awesome, not less.

No more promise no more sorrow
No longer will I follow
Can anybody hear me
I just want to be me
When I can, I will
Try to understand
That when I can, I will
